Frigidaire, Frigidaire Gallery, Frigidaire Professional. Budget-friendly Electrolux-family appliances — we know the weak points and the quick fixes.
Frigidaire is Electrolux’s North American mass-market brand. Base Frigidaire is budget-tier; Gallery adds features; Professional targets the mid-range. You see Frigidaire most commonly in Toronto rentals, basement suites, cottage/secondary homes, and apartment building fit-outs. The engineering is fine but uses fewer premium materials than Whirlpool — expect an 8–10 year service life with moderate use.
FFSS/FFHS side-by-sides and French-doors. Ice buildup in freezer = defrost system failure.
FFCD/FFBD — door latch microswitch is a common failure after 5 years. Dishwasher won’t start without it.
FFEF/FCRE series — bake elements fail with visible breaks. Cheap part, easy swap.
FFFW front-loads and top-loads — drain pump clogs are the most common call.
Water inlet valve or auger motor. Standard Electrolux-family ice maker parts.
FFSE series — heating element replacement is a 45-minute visit. Check vent at the same time.
FFSS, FFHS, FGHS (fridges); FFFW, FFTW (washers); FFSE, FFSG (dryers); FFCD, FFBD, FGID (dishwashers); FFEF, FCRE, FPEF (ranges); FFMV, FGMV (microwaves). All three tiers.
Under 7 years old, usually yes. Past 8 years on a budget-line Frigidaire with a control-board failure, replacement is often the smarter call. We’ll diagnose on-site and tell you straight.
Professional adds commercial-grade finishes and slightly heavier internals. Gallery is the "features" tier. Both service similarly.
Good for common parts — Electrolux Canada stocks them in Ontario. Obscure discontinued models can take 5–10 days.
