LG has made big reliability gains in the last decade, especially on fridges. Their direct-drive washer motors are genuinely durable; bearing and drum-assembly quality is a different story. The well-publicized LG fridge compressor class-action (2014–2017 linear compressors) is mostly behind us, but we still see occasional late-model failures. On the washer side, front-load bearings are the signature LG call.
LFX and LMX French-door fridges from 2014–2017 had a documented linear-compressor issue. LG extended warranties; some units are still in warranty. We diagnose compressor vs. sealed-system issue and handle the warranty paperwork if applicable.
WM series front-loads (WM3500, WM4000, WM8100) have a known 5–7 year bearing life in heavy-use households. Labour-heavy repair because the tub must come apart — on units over 8 years, we often recommend replacement instead. We diagnose on-site and quote before any work.
LE = motor lock (direct-drive fault), IE = water inlet. LE often resolves with a motor reset; persistent LE = pump motor replacement.
Drum-roller wear on DLE/DLG models shows up as a thumping noise. Replace the rollers and belt together — they wear at the same rate.
Common on slim French-door models. Water inlet valve or auger motor. Cleaner fix than Samsung, usually.
LSE and LRG ranges have touch-panel issues after heat stress. Replacement panels are available but pricey.

Depends on model and build date. LG extended compressor coverage to 5 or 10 years on affected units. We check your serial against the LG Canada records before quoting repair — if it’s in warranty, we coordinate with LG directly.
Usually yes — a bearing job typically buys another 5–7 years of service. At 10+ years it’s a closer call and we’ll tell you straight, with the exact repair number in hand.
Middle of the pack. Bosch and Miele outlast them. LDF series has improved a lot in the last 5 years. Expect 9–11 years with average use.
Good. LG Canada has a Mississauga distribution center. Most common parts next-day; obscure older parts 3–7 days.
