Bravos top-loads, commercial-grade dryers, MDB dishwashers. Whirlpool-family engineering tuned for longevity. We know the failure points and the 20-year fixes.
Maytag is a Whirlpool brand, but the "Maytag Commercial" engineering line (MVWB, MVWC, MGD series) uses heavier motors, better transmissions, and longer warranties than base Whirlpool. Maytag top-loaders are some of the longest-lived mass-market washers we service — 15+ year-old units are common calls, and almost always worth fixing.
MVWB/MVWC — shift actuator is the signature Bravos failure. Washer fills but won’t agitate. Routine fix that typically buys 5+ more years.
MGD/MED series — 10+ year service life but drum rollers and bearings eventually wear. Squealing = replace as a set.
MDB series — touch panel and display failures after 7–9 years. Moisture from the drying cycle is the main culprit.
MHW series — door boot wear similar to Whirlpool Duet. Gasket + tub clean on the same visit.
MER/MGR series — straightforward element replacement on electric; igniter on gas models.
MFI/MFW French-doors — ice on the floor, defrost drain clog. 30-minute fix.
MVWB, MVWC, MHW, MHWE (washers — Bravos and front-load); MED, MGD (dryers); MDB, MDC (dishwashers); MFI, MFW, MSS (fridges); MER, MGR, MES (ranges); MMV (microwaves).
On the commercial tier — yes, modestly. Heavier motors and transmissions mean longer service life. Outside the commercial line, they’re similar.
Often yes — these machines can run 20+ years. A shift actuator or inlet valve repair is a sound investment if the tub and motor are still good. We diagnose on-site and quote before any work.
Many, not all. Shared parts on dishwashers and dryers; washers diverge on the drive assembly. We check the parts catalog before quoting.
